Barwell (Ship) logbook, 1785-1786.

The logbook of the ship Barwell details a shipping voyage from Debtford, England, to Huangpu Qu (Whampoa), China, Jan. 1785-July 1786. The master was Robert Carr. The logbook includes instances of death, desertion, disorderly conduct, and stealing, as well as a list of the merchant mariners on board, and an account of a waterspout. During its voyage, the Barwell spoke the ship Bengal.
